ChatGPT really went viral lately!
In December 2022, ChatGPT was launched. Just two months later, ChatGPT had more than 100 million monthly active users, breaking the shortest time to reach that number and making it the fastest growing consumer App in history. Why is ChatGPT so terrific, and what does it upend?
I. What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a general intelligent conversational robot program developed by OpenAI. In terms of technology, ChatGPT conducts training based on large-scale pre-training language model of GPT-3.5 architecture (Transformer based). And the Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) has been introduced to constantly adjust the pre-training language model, thus the understanding of human intention is greatly improved, which makes ChatGPT output content consistent with common sense, cognition, needs and values of human beings.
What's amazing about ChatGPT is that in terms of function, not only does it possess excellent intelligent conversation ability, it can also write papers, code, tutorials, and reports, and generate content faster and with a quality that exceeds that of people who have been working in the field for years. In terms of personality, it dares to question, admit ignorance, take the initiative to admit mistakes, state positions, and has contextual memory coherence, which reflects self-cognition and real-time autonomous learning ability. To some extent, the content generated by ChatGPT can replace some of the "primary content producers" and push generative AI to new heights.
